Media is the most prevalent aspect of daily life. Very few people can live without a digital device with which they interact with others using mediated interpersonal and mass communication. Media channels are everywhere, and everyone has access. Media Studies students will be prepared for a wide range of careers, including those in journalism, public relations, marketing, advertising, media production, TV and radio, and social media.​

Military Science

The Army ROTC program prepares cadets to become officers in the military and provides financial support to qualified candidates. Cadets can meet the requirements to qualify as officers and also attain a minor in military science. Cadets can complete a bachelor’s degree in the field of their choice. Program graduates can achieve a commission as a second lieutenant right after graduation.

ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE

The mission of the Utah Tech University ESL Program is to provide instruction and support to help international students develop the academic English skills and awareness of cultural norms and standards needed to succeed at an American university. At UT-ESL, our goal is to be the best ESL institution for preparing international students to succeed at an American university while remaining one of the most affordable programs in the region. We do this through hiring only highly educated and experienced faculty, setting high academic standards for our students, and providing assistance and support for our students that is second to none.

GLOBAL STUDIES

The Global Studies program provides interdisciplinary education in the principal issues confronting today’s globalized world, in order to prepare Utah Tech University students to become global leaders in business, education, government, and the non-profit sector. The program will help students develop the ability to work with people from other cultures, learn and develop intercultural communication skills, learn foreign languages and apply academic credit for study abroad toward a degree. It contains several tracks so students can cater their studies to their areas of interest.
